DADA

Inspiration from the writings of Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

"Teach him about difference, make difference ordinary. Make difference normal, teach him not to value difference, and the reason for this is not to be fair or nice, but merely humane and practical, because difference is the reality of our world, and by teaching her about the difference, you are equipping her to survive in a diverse world.

She must know and understand that people travel different paths in the world and that as long as those paths do not harm others, they are valid paths that she must respect.

Teach him that we don't know, we can't know, everything about life. Both religion and science have room for the things we don't know and we just have to make peace with that.

Teach him to never universalize his own standards or experiences. Teach her that her rules are only for her and not for other people.

This is the only necessary form of humility: the understanding that difference is normal."
