QUEEN SERIES

Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (London, April 21, 1926 – September 8, 2022)

Queen Elizabeth II was already portrayed by important painters such as Lucian Freud or the Catalan Miriam Escofet who were lucky enough to portray the Queen in life. On the day of her death, September 8, 2022, Inmaculada López Hernández paints the portrait of the Queen of England as a global icon, representing her point of view at that historic moment, disappearing on the country's flag to give way to new times.

An image frozen in time with a timeless representation of the character as representing the personality of the character, introverted, practical, logical, responsible and serene.

"My intention was to represent the connection between death and life, the past and what is born, the strength of a powerful woman, retaining through painting that force and energy that is produced only in an instant, death. I intend "That energy is transmitted to the viewer, creating a sensation of amulet through the icon."
