FIGHTER

Oil on canvas 148x114cm

Woman fighter unsheathing the Japanese katana Dojigiri, one of the most important ancient swords preserved in Japan, according to legend this katana is capable of killing demons, in her hair the national flower chrysanthemums of Japan that symbolize longevity as opposed to the danger of fighting, she also wears the traditional kanzashi headdress as a good apprentice Maiko decorated with chrysanthemum leaves that represent the power of life.

On their forehead are the Siamese fighting fish or betta fish, both being male, their nature pushes them to fight to the death and they are in full battle, the complementary colors of the fish and their eyes represent yin and yang, two concepts of Taoism, which are used to represent or refer to the two opposing and complementary, but interconnected, fundamental forces found in all things; and that is attributed to everything existing in the universe, the duality of the human being.

Metaphysical dualism about the nature of the human being, that is, the idea that the human being is a composite of two entities, each of which can enjoy a 'separate' existence from the other.

The tool provided by dual art is manifested through the tension that is generated between opposing elements: chance-rule, chaos-order, shadow-light, death-life, yin-yang. Painting, in this sense, interacts various levels on the duality of matter in mass and wave, and of reality in the contrast of dissolution and order.
